What is Tuition Care?

TuitionCare is a unique program established by the Foundation for Catholic Education that allows you to redirect your Pennsylvania state tax dollars and reduce your tuition, while receiving 90% of your contribution back as a tax credit.
All St. Thomas school families from grades K-8 benefit from TuitionCare regardless of their participation or contribution amount. However, the more participants, the lower tuition is for K-8 families!

How Does it Work?

Sign Up: In order to participate in TuitionCare you MUST have PA state tax liability. New TuitionCare participants must register by October 31 and agree to contribute a minimum of $500 for two years. If your original commitment is less than this amount, rest assured that the Foundation will continue to honor your original pledge amount, but we encourage you to consider increasing your contribution if possible.
Receive Tax Credit: Enjoy a 90% PA tax credit on your contribution. This means that for the minimum $500 contribution, you would receive $450 back as part of your PA tax refund. Your total out of pocket cost is only $50!
Support St. Thomas: The school receives a $1,000 grant from the Foundation for each participant.
Tuition Refund: The total grant is then evenly distributed among all K-8 families as a tuition refund. Last year, 173 families participated, resulting in a $935 tuition refund for every K-8 family. This year, we aim for every family to receive a $1,000 refund, with a target of 204 participants.
