From the Principal
Since 1956, St. Thomas the Apostle School has been providing a rich Catholic education, rigorous and relevant academic programs as well as spiritual, cultural and athletic activities rooted in the gospel message.
At St. Thomas the Apostle School, we call each student to play an integral role in the mission of the Church and to commit themselves to productive lives to serve God, serve the Church, and serve the Community and Family. Through liturgy celebrations such as the Mass and community projects our students learn and live their faith. As a result, they develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Through a safe and nurturing environment, St. Thomas the Apostle School provides various opportunities for growth and creativity. Our academic institution is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition to religion and the core academic subjects, we foster learning through the Arts, as well as physical education and Spanish language class. The Delaware County Intermediate Unit provides assistance to those students in need of reading remediation, speech/language therapy and counseling.
Through the combined use of iPads, net books, Smart Boards and a computer lab used across the curriculum, the students develop the 21st Century skills needed to be successful in our digital world. With the generous support of the parents and teachers of their time and energy, the students have available to them an extensive CYO program and extra-curricular activities. Educating the whole child is our goal and we, therefore, provide them the opportunity to build strong minds and bodies. Participation is encouraged through concerts, presentations and many cultural events. C.A.R.E.S., our extended day program, is available both in the morning and afternoon.
